STAGESMARTS AB

MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER

Are you a practical and detail-oriented mechanical engineer who enjoys turning concepts into robust, manufacturable products? Do you like working close to production, suppliers, and real hardware — and seeing your designs used on the world's biggest stages? If you're a hands-on problem solver who wants real impact in a small, fast-moving team, you might be exactly who we're looking for.

About StageSmarts

StageSmarts is a fast-growing Swedish manufacturer of intelligent power distribution systems for the live entertainment industry. Our products are used by world-leading productions in more than 40 countries — including Oasis, Radiohead, Depeche Mode, the Eurovision Song Contest, and the Olympic Games.

Since 2015, we've built a reputation as the premium choice for smart power distribution — where safety and reliability are critical and failure is not an option. Our award-winning X-series platform received the PLASA Innovation Award and is now used worldwide in touring, broadcast, and large-scale events.

Following the X-series launch in 2025, demand has exceeded our production capacity. We're now looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to help scale production, build our internal structures, and develop the next generation of our products.

You'll work closely with production, suppliers, and the CTO in a dynamic environment with short decision paths and real opportunities to influence both products and processes.

In this role you will:

Supplier collaboration

  • Maintain technical dialogue with suppliers in Sweden and across Europe

  • Handle quality-related issues and follow-ups

  • Travel to suppliers when needed

You will report to the company's CTO.

About you

You're a practical, solution-oriented engineer who takes ownership and drives work forward. You're comfortable working close to production and suppliers, and you care about quality, details, and manufacturability. You communicate clearly, collaborate well, and thrive in an environment where your decisions have real impact.

Education and experience

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, technical college graduate with extensive experience, or equivalent

  • Solid experience with detailed mechanical design and production adaptation

  • Practical understanding of different manufacturing methods

Technical competence

  • Good knowledge of 3D CAD (we use TopSolid but are open to other systems)

  • Experience working closely with production and suppliers

Personal qualities

  • Practical and solution-oriented

  • Self-driven, with the ability to move tasks forward

  • Communicative and collaborative

  • Quality-focused, with strong attention to detail

Requirements

  • Fluent in Swedish and English, written and spoken

  • Experience with 3D CAD

Meritorious

  • Experience with electrical systems or power equipment

  • Knowledge of electronic control systems or EMC and electrical safety requirements

What we offer

  • A key role in a fast-growing company with international reach

  • The opportunity to shape the company's future

  • Work with innovative products used on the world's biggest stages

  • Short decision paths in a small team with engaged colleagues

  • Location in Arboga, with some travel to suppliers in Sweden and Europe
