AZURE CLOUD ENGINEER

ABOUT THE ROLE
We’re looking for a highly skilled Azure Cloud Engineer with a strong focus on Microsoft to join our growing Security & Architecture team.
In this key role, you’ll design, implement, and manage complex cloud infrastructures across Azure and hybrid environments, playing a pivotal part in transforming our existing on-premises Windows and Linux infrastructure into scalable, secure, and serverless Azure services.
You’ll collaborate closely with IT, Security, and R&D architects, as well as cross-functional departments, to translate business needs into effective, cloud-specific technical solutions. Your expertise will guide the evaluation, design, and integration of Azure services and tools to maximize performance, cost-efficiency, and reliability.
Using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) technologies such as Terraform or Ansible, you’ll ensure automated, consistent, and compliant deployments across our environments. You’ll also conduct regular cloud infrastructure audits to identify vulnerabilities and implement improvements—particularly within hybrid setups.
In addition, you’ll develop and enforce Azure policies, standards, and procedures, ensuring alignment with security best practices and industry regulations. Acting as a trusted advisor, you’ll provide technical guidance and mentorship to Group IT Operations, helping the team stay current with the latest Azure advancements.
This position may occasionally require after-hours support during critical incidents.
The position is based in Lund, Sweden with the possibility to work part time from home.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCES
Technical skills
Proficient in designing, deploying, and managing Azure cloud services, including virtual networks, virtual machines, containers, storage, cloud native infrastructure and Azure PaaS.
Strong understanding of cloud automation using scripting and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform and Ansible.
Strong understanding of Azure security best practices, including identity and access management (IAM), network security groups (NSGs), azure firewall, web application firewalls (WAF), Defender for cloud, and compliance with industry standards.
Skilled in using Azure Monitor, Azure Log Analytics, and Application Insights to monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize resource utilization for cost-efficiency and high availability.
Experience from working with AWS or OpenStack cloud services is an advantage
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Management Skills
Proven experience in designing and implementing large-scale Cloud infrastructure.
Demonstrated ability to lead deployment projects from conception to completion.
Experience with cloud networking solutions and virtualization technologies, particularly in Azure environments.
